Mid-Town Ferry Terminal

Owner/Client: New York City / EDC

Description: Following the events of 9/11 this terminal was one of the first new terminals constructed to facilitate the additional need for commuter water transport in and out of the city. This 30,000sf facility is constructed with a glass façade visible from the river which shines as a beacon. Extreme construction techniques and tolerances were required while drilling supports for the new terminal which were installed within the Influence Zone of the Ventilation Towers of the Lincoln Tunnel. Various waterside repair works was required including repair of the piles supporting the pier, relieving platform modifications and construction of ferry slips upon floating barges.

Saint George Ferry Terminal

Owner/Client: New York City / EDC

Description: This terminal is the Intermodal transportation Hub for approximately 60,000 commuters in and out of Staten Island every day. Modernization of this 190,000sf terminal included; new infrastructure and maintenance building, new structure connecting the slips to the terminal, a new clearstory roof over the waiting area, new entrances and promenades, vehicle ramp repairs, new site utilities and various site improvements, as well as new wharf work. Complex staging plans were required to work in this 24/7 operation as well as maintaining all pedestrian, automobile & bus, railroad and ferry operations.

Fiterman Hall

Owner/Client: DASNY /CUNY

Description: Fiterman Hall is a 350,000sf academic facility located in downtown Manhattan. The original commercial building was donated to Manhattan Community College and underwent major renovations in order to provide much need academic space to the city university system. Major core and shell upgrades including exterior renovations, all new window and doors, vertical circulation, mechanical and electrical systems were replaced. Interior build-out of classrooms, laboratory, administrative and commercial space was developed. Construction management services were provided while maintaining building occupancy.

Jean George Restaurant

Description: A beautiful gem design by the Tiffany Design Team located in the base of The Trump Hotel & Tower on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.  This world class restaurant serves as both a luxurious dining experience as well as an architectural and construction masterpiece.

Port Authority Bus Terminal

Owner/Client: New York State

Description: When The Port Authority of NY & NJ required upgrading to its facility and bus terminals they realized, careful planning & budgeting where required to achieve effective results.  In an active facility where ten of thousands of people traverse daily, safety  was a prime concerns to this $47 million upgrade.  Construction Management Services was over a multi-year duration to perform emergency and design build task orders ranging from 50k to 8M for renovations of this major regional commuter hub. Work was inclusive of structural modifications and reinforcement, circulation improvements as well as major mechanical, electrical and security upgrades.

Airis Cargo Facility (JFK)

Description: These (2) new air cargo processing centers were constructed at JFK International Airport and comprised approximately 500,000sf. Long span joist were constructed to provide a clear span up to 800 feet.  This facility includes cargo operations & support areas, TV/ULD storage, GSE buildings and export surcharge areas. This work was preformed under as a Construction Management at Risk.

Description:  This $15 million library expansion in the village of Manhasset Long Island increased the libraries space by nearly 50%.  Construction created a 200 seat community room a modern center for learning as well as areas designated for quiet study space and public cafe.

Description: A Rockwell designed restaurant in the NYC theater district has great appeal and spectacular finishes.  In addition to a 2-story kitchen this 125 seat dining experience has a sleek rear lounge.  A row of presidium wood and fabric arches line the way to the display kitchen & cozy lounge.  The restaurant rated on its beautiful design ranks high in the NYC restaurant guide.
