Description: The Fashion Institute of Technology project was a gut renovation of
approximately 350,000 square feet to retrofit a commercial building into an
1100-bed dormitory for the State University of New York college. New Vertical
Circulation, Mechanical and Electrical Systems Services were performed as
Construction Manager at Risk.

St John’s University
Taffner Field House

Description: In order to complete a fast-track schedule to meet the fall
basketball season, St. John’s University needed a well-organized and efficient team to complete the new
Taffner Field House. The field house was built adjacent to the University’s practice facility for the St. John’s Red Men, which encompasses a regulation-sized sports arena, training
facilities, locker room, and sports medicine offices and administrative suites
for coaches and staff. This beautiful complex was built directly on top of the
St. John’s main campus.

Description: This 300+ bed dormitory was one in a long line of achievements initiated by St.
John University’s 2000 capital program. The apartment-like design created a unique and modern
dormitory on St. John’s Main Queen campus, featuring a steel and masonry façade, spacious bedroom suites with high-end student life, laundry and
recreational facilities.

Located in Queens, New York, the new High School of Architecture and Urban
Planning is over 150,000 sf of structural steel, masonry and metal panels built
on a heavily contaminated site. Working around a new administration, budget
constraints, a strict opening fall schedule, and over 200 design modifications
created a challenging atmosphere, however, proper project management ensured
that the initial budget remained just under $300 per square foot.

Description: SUNY Maritime College added a new 4-story, 300+ bed dormitory
located at Fort Schuyler in the Bronx, New York. A steel structure on pile-supported foundations with a masonry and stone façade was designed to complement the 19th century fort and surrounding campus
structures. Services were performed as Construction Manager at Risk.

The largest building project in the Campus’ 78-year history, the $45 million, 112,000 sf Wellness, Recreation and Athletic
Center opened in January 2006. Located on the Brooklyn campus the WRAC features
a 2,500-seat arena, an NCAA regulation-size swimming pool and a
state-of-the-art fitness center and weight room.
