rcRussell holds a long-standing relationship with Achievement First, the high-performing charter school network — serving as both General Contractor on direct construction engagements and as Owner’s Consultant tracking and coordinating work across the network’s broader summer-break and short-break project portfolio.
As GC, rcRussell has delivered work at 557 Pennsylvania Avenue (AF East NY ES), 125 Covert (AF Bushwick ES), 200 Woodbine (AF North Brooklyn Prep MS), and other campuses across the network. In parallel, we serve as the network’s consulting eyes on summer projects we don’t directly build — tracking requisitions, third-party approvals, scope coverage, and contractor status across multiple trades and multiple sites so the AF facilities team can run a portfolio of work without staffing a project office.
School renovations carry a specific operational reality: every project must happen inside an occupied educational facility, with zero tolerance for schedule slippage. Most of the work is scheduled into the network’s short breaks — winter, spring, and summer — where buildings empty out for a finite window and must be returned ready for students. The 557 Pennsylvania Avenue bathroom refresh, for example, was delivered over a tight Christmas-break window. rcRussell has built up the campus-by-campus knowledge, break-window project sequencing, and trade relationships that make this kind of recurring engagement both deliverable and trusted by the AF facilities team.
